Bio[Paul Raines is from '24' fandom and is the property of 20th Century Fox and Real Time Productions. He appears here solely for the purpose of role-playing in ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif)

[OOC: Paul Raines is approximately 5'11", 34 years old, Caucasian, well-built, with dark, curly hair and blue eyes. He is of Irish descent but grew up in England, which accounts for his English accent despite having spent most of his adult life living in America. Paul is intelligent and soft-spoken, while he is confident in his business world of finance and technology, he is gawky and awkward when it comes to, as he'd say with unintentional triteness, "matters of the heart". His lack of comfort with relationships precludes him from having many but those who see beyond his mistaken surface coldness will find a sweet man with a dry wit, desperate to live up to his own high expectations of the modern romantic hero.
In the '24' world, Paul was the tragic, estranged husband of Audrey Raines and unlikely ally to her lover, Jack Bauer. Paul was a multimillionaire despite being only in his early thirties, a CEO at Galaxy Financial Services and owned several of his own corporations. He and Audrey were married for eight years before the year-long separation that ended with the fourth season of '24', wherein Paul was setup by terrorist mastermind Habib Marwan to take the fall for the kidnapping of Audrey and her father, the Secretary of Defense. Marwan's deception was discovered but not before Jack had tortured Paul, who later proved himself a hero by enduring torture and other threats to his life to guard crucial bits of evidence. Paul took a bullet for Jack and came out of surgery suffering from spinal trauma that had paralyzed him from the waist down. Paul went back into surgery a few hours later and died when Jack forced the doctor attending to Paul to save the life of a key witness instead.
